Pauline Polsgrove

POLSGROVE, Pauline E - Age 98, of Flint, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, April 8th at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Deacon Michael Dear officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Owosso. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 1-4 PM and 6-8PM Thursday; and 10 AM Friday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Make A Wish Foundation, Genesee County Humane Society, or a charity of one's choice. Pauline was born February 16, 1918 in Swartz Creek, the daughter of Paul and Pauline (Lois) Balazovic. She married Herb Polsgrove on August 20, 1949 and he preceded her in death April 9, 1997 after 48 years of marriage. She had resided in Flint most of her life. Pauline was employed at Fisher Body #1 and AC Spark Plug for 39 years, retiring in 1974. She was also a member of the 1936 - 1937 sit down strike! Pauline also worked at Hanson's Cleaners of Fenton for 18 years. Pauline enjoyed her flower gardens, traveling, cooking, and baking. Surviving are: daughter, Lois (Randy) Birchmeier; granddaughter, Barb (Carl) Ecclestone; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Shane Ecclestone; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Rodney Polsgrove; two sisters, Lida Webber and Frances Kasubowski; step-father John Hanzlovic; and son-in-law, Charles Bunker.
