Paula Vogeleisen

VOGELEISEN, Paula A. (Doherty) - Age 89, of Swartz Creek, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Landings of Genesee Valley. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, February 15, 2021 at North Baptist Church 4004 Lennon Rd. Flint. Pastor Hal Burkholder officiating.  Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be held 11 AM until the time of service Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the North Baptist Church.

Paula was born on August 10, 1931 in Detroit the daughter of Thomas Doherty and Violet Debarr. She married Henry Vogeleisen on June 23, 1951 in Flint. Paula worked as a nurse for McLaren Flint for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the North Baptist Church and Dorcas Missionary Group. Paula enjoyed traveling up north to the cabin with her family and reading in her free time.

Surviving are: 4 daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Shelton, Pamela (David) Patterson, Christine (Ronald) Hemenway, Leah (Kevin) Knowlton; 5 grandchildren, Christina, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Matthew and Katie; 8 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Hannah, Xavier, Peyton, Tessa, Skylar, Jaydin, James; cousin, Joan Clifford; and best friend, Marjorie Behnke.

She is preceded in death also by her husband, Henry "Joe" Vogeleisen; son, Paul Vogeleisen; grandson Chad, and son-in-law Jim Wiederman. Tributes maybe shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
