Paul Joseph Schuessler Sr., age 80, of Flint, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. A Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E Bristol Rd, Burton, MI 48529. Fr. Georges Bidzogo will officiate with committal service following in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. On Tuesday morning, Paul will be taken to church to lie in state from 11:00 AM until the time of Mass.
Paul was born on December 24, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of the late William and Cecelia (Richard) Schuessler. He graduated from Holy Redeemer Catholic School, class of 1962. Paul and Anita Bess were united in marriage on June 1, 1963. Sadly, she preceded him in death on January 26, 2021. He worked as a truck driver for many years at McDonald Dairy and Country Fresh, and lastly with Steel Trucking until his retirement. Paul had a love for cats and was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and a car enthusiast.
Surviving are his two children Cheryll (Thomas) Hunt, Joe (Tracey) Schuessler; four grandchildren, Hayden (Josi) Schuessler, Morgan Schuessler, Trevor (Hayley) Hunt and Travis Hunt; three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kaydenz and Theodore; sister, Ann (Bill) Barrow; sister-in-law, Sue (Craig) Williamson; and several nieces and nephews.
