PATTAN, Paul Victor - Age 65, of Byron, passed away December 7, 2021 after a lengthy and courageous battle with colon cancer. Paul was born April 21, 1956 in Holly, the son of Douglas Cramer and Marian Marie (Petts) Pattan. He was many things to many people. He was a man of few words, but if he spoke, a wise person listened. He was an expert on military history, music of all kinds and college sports. He loved riding Harley's, video games and spending time with close friends. Paul worked the last 35 years at Dunham Hills Golf Course. When asked recently, if he liked his work, he simply stated "If I didn't like it I would not have stayed over 30 years". Paul lived in Byron on Water Street for 56 years, where he developed and maintained several close friends, including the Skinners, Hibbards, Brewers and Hollenbacks. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Douglas Cramer (Susie) Pattan Jr.; sister, Rosemary Lynn (Donald) Pattan Woodard; uncle, Don (Wanda) Petts; nieces, Tammy Woodard, Beth (Scott) Smith, Jennifer (Josy) Phillips; great-nephew, Noah; great-nieces, Kylie and Adalynn; several step nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbara Marie Pattan and Martha Jean Pattan. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life and burial in Byron Cemetery will take place at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Kindred Hospice.
