HAYES, Paul Cornelius - Age 89, of Flint Township/ Flushing died September 17, 2020. Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Mayfair Bible Church , 5339 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing. Pastor Dean Stewart and Pastor Michael Breznau will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Flushing Christian Outreach Center. Paul was born April 19, 1931 in Flint, the son of Joseph William and Mamie Louise (Thompson) Hayes. Paul was a graduate of Beecher High School, Flint Junior College and John Wesley College. He graduated from officers training from the Army, was a graduate of U.S. Army command and general staff college. He served in the 46th infantry division of the Michigan National Guard and retired from the Army as Lieutenant Colonel. Paul completed the electrical apprenticeship program at General Motors Institute and retired from GM. He was a member of Mayfair Bible Church, National Rifle Association and American Foundry Men's Society. He was also a Department of Natural Resources Instructor, NRA Instructor and Hunter Safety Instructor. Paul married Judith Liversedge Case on June 26, 1971. Paul was a kind and gentle man, one of character and integrity. He loved God, Country and family. He is survived by his wife, Judith; children, Beth (Gary) Kotlark, Michele (Joseph "Bud") Harbert, Dee Lynn (John Belott) Hayes, Carolyn Case, LaLonni (Allen) Murray, Gaylan Hayes; grandchildren, Erin (Robert) Faith, Andrew (Jessica) Lenox, Jordan Hyrman, Adam (Tarah) Hyrman, Brandon (Tasha) McDonald, Drew (Jeanette) McDonald, Brandilyn Hayes, Lindsey (Eric) Ziegenfuss, Kelli (Steve) Garrett; great-grandchildren, Abi, Eli, Penny, Iris, Alex, Jaidyn, Keegan, Maverick, Lincoln, Adalynn, Mason, Adrian, Calvin, Phillip and his mother, Ashley Nicholson, Tyler, Andrew, Emerson, Capri; sister, Pauline (Herbert) Raedeke; brother-in-law, Dan (Sherry) Liversedge; niece, Jodie (Kevin) Day; nephew, Jason; great-nieces, Briar and Abrianna; great-nephew, Reece; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Elaine Daenzer Hayes; two grandsons, Calvin and Benjamin Roach
