Paul Bergum

Bergum, Paul S. - Age 79, of Linden, passed away peacefully Monday, May 19, 2014 at his second home in Port Charlotte, Florida. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 9:00 AM Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton., Fr. Dwight Ezop celebrant. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday from 2-8 PM. Paul was born in Buffalo, NY on June 28th, 1934, the youngest of 10 children to Peter and Marie (Myer) Bergum. He married Mary Elizabeth Buchwald on August 27, 1955. During their 59 years of marriage, Paul and Mary raised their family in St. Joseph and Brighton, MI and have resided in Linden for the past 10 years. Surviving are: his wife, Mary; 6 children, Paul and wife Nancy Bergum of White Lake, James Bergum of CA, Mary Johnson of FL, Joseph and wife Suzanne Bergum of Pinckney, Carol and husband Gordon Appleton of FL, and Patti and husband Marty Otman of Linden; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and sister, Joan Carlson of NY. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings. As a husband, brother, father and grandfather ("Papa"), he was and always will be loved and missed.
