YANKEE, Patrick Michael - Age 76, of Fenton, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton with Fr. David Harvey celebrating. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 1-5 and 6-9 PM and at church Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John Catholic Church Gift Campaign. Mr. Yankee was born April 20, 1933 in Flint, the son of Casper S. and Marguerite (Trudell) Yankee. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. He married Rose Marie McCann August 21, 1954 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint and she preceded him in death November 1, 2006. Mr. Yankee retired in 1987 from AC Spark Plug after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post #3243, Fraternal Order of Eagles Fenton Aerie #2460 and a member and past governor of the Loyal Order of Moose Fenton Lodge #2364 . He also was the assistant varsity football coach at Carman Ainsworth High School for 9 years. Surviving are: 3 children, Raymond Yankee of Ft. Wayne, IN, Michael and wife Patricia Yankee of Grand Blanc and Colleen and husband Mark Bezinque of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Nicole and husband David Campbell, Cynthia and husband Josh Bernard, Anthony Melton and Kyle Yankee; several nieces and nephews.
