ENNIS, Patrick (Pat) Francis - Age 84, of Durand, went home to the Lord on August 17, 2021, while surrounded by his family. Patrick was born December 3 1936 in Collinstown, Cummerstown, County Westmeath, Ireland. The son of Thomas and Clare (Lynch) Ennis. Pat left Ireland on October 30 1956 and came to the United States. His brother, Bernie picked him up in New York and brought him to Flint. Pat met Shirley McPhilimy in January 1959 when they were sponsors for the baptism of Kevin Wills. They fell in love and married on April 18 1959 in Flint. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Pat worked at B&B Paint in Flint, as well as being a TV repairman until he was hired at GM Fisher Body in Flint. Pat worked there as a shop committee man until it closed. He then went to Buick City after 37 years he retired in 1998. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Pat and his wife Shirley were devoted to their family. They were always there to help out their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as friends and neighbors. No job was too big or hard for Pat! He was an amazing man who was kind, caring, and hardworking. He passed on all his qualities and self-taught skills to all he touched. Pat is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Ennis; their 6 children, Patrick (Julie) Ennis, Rosemarie (Kip) Harman, Marilyn Ennis, Teresa (David) Decker, Sharlene (David) Drury and Michael (Margaret) Ennis; their 21 grandchildren, Trina (Molly) Ennis, Kari Ennis, Katie (Emily) Ennis, Natasha (Brandon) Kearney, Jade (Jacob) Garred, Shannon Harman, Sean (Talia DiVicino) O'Sullivan, Devon O'Sullivan, Trevor O'Sullivan, Sydney O'Sullivan, Andrea (Dakota) Kujat, Shannon (Brady Heit) Decker, Patrick Decker, McKenna Decker, David (Kaitlyn Russell) Drury, Ryan (Tannis) Drury, Erin (Tyler McPherson) Drury, Kyle Drury, Aislinn Ennis, Donovan Ennis, and Sinead Ennis; great grandchildren, Layne Kearney, Lily and Easton Garred, Maverick and Delilah Kujat, Jensen Drury and Benson DiVicino; his sister, Clare (Albert) Phillips; sister-in-law, Pauline Ennis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Clare Ennis; sisters, Margaret (Ennis) Ashe, Theresa (Ennis) McMahon and brothers, Bernard Ennis and Thomas Ennis; sister-in-law, Marilyn Wright; brothers-in-law, Robert McPhilimy, Donald McPhilimy, Joseph McPhilimy, and Marion Raymond Wright; son-in-law, Shawn O'Sullivan; grandchildren, Sophia Ennis and Ian Ennis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin celebrant. (A live-streaming of the Service will be available on Pat's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Interment will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes; Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek on Friday from 4-8 PM and Saturday at the church from 9-10 AM.
