CARMODY, Patrick Joseph - Age 79, of Fenton, died Sunday, November 27, 2016. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey and Fr. James Conlon will concelebrate. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton and from 10 AM until the time of Mass Thursday at church. A vigil service will be held at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Patrick was born March 16, 1937 in Chicago, the son of Earl and Helen (Bushor) Carmody. He was a 1956 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Detroit and attended University of Detroit. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Patrick married Virginia Sue Voigt on June 27, 1964 in West Bloomfield. He was a senior manager at Hougen Manufacturing retiring in 1999. Mr. Carmody was a member of the American Legion and was active in Residential Subdivision Activity. He was elected Trustee of Fenton Township and later served as Treasurer. He served as past President of Society of Plastic Engineers and was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mr. Carmody was very active at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Reader and participated in R.C.I.A and the Advisory Committee of Remodeling. Patrick is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Bridget Ann (Brian) Ross of Grand Blanc, Kevin Michael (Megan) Carmody of Western Springs, IL; grandchildren, Alexander, Samantha, John, Matthew and Elle; sister, Lynn Ellen Whittee; special friends, Mac and Sue MacLean.
