Patricia Ruiz

RUIZ, Patricia Ann - 82, Swartz Creek, died October 16, 2021. A graveside service will be held on October 20, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Austin Wildlife Rescue, or MD Anderson Cancer Center. Patricia was born December 5, 1938 in Detroit, the daughter of William and Gertrude (Eccles) McCoy. She was raised in Flint and attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School. Patricia married Candelario M. Ruiz on February 20, 1960, together they owned and operated Cande's Cleaners and later Linden Dry Cleaners for many years. Affectionately known as "Patty", she always said what she believed and loved with her whole heart. She enjoyed watching birds at the feeder, chicken tortilla soup, and watching The Waltons over and over. She regularly found good qualities in others, and was always sure to take a moment to tell them.  She loved greeting children and she always rooted for the underdog.  She was and always will be a guardian angel. Patricia is survived by her husband, Candelario M. Ruiz. Together they raised four children, Edward Ruiz, Sylvia Ruiz, Michael Ruiz of and Maria Ruiz Sandford; she had 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; she is also survived by her two sisters, Carole Ramburg and Diane Foster both of Swartz Creek. She was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Eileen O'Neil and Vivianne Richardson; and brother, William McCoy. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
