Patricia A. PALMER

PALMER, Patricia A., age 76 of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Avalon Hospice. Mrs. Palmer was born in Port Huron on November 2, 1932 the daughter of Darrell L. and Freda E. (Schmidt) Clevenger. She attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Flint, was a graduate of Flint Technical High School in 1950 and later attended Flint Jr. College. Mrs. Palmer married Dale W. Palmer on October 18, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2005. She was employed by Buick Motor Division Service Department, The G.M.A.C in Boston and the law firs of William R. McTaggart and John A. ransom for 31 years and retired in 1987. She was a past member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Flint where she taught Sunday School, was a Financial Secretary, Recording Secretary and a member of the choir. Later she became a member of St. Paul Lutheran church of Flint and was a member of the Altar Guild of the Church. She was a member of the United Commercial Travelers of America and served as the International President of Auxiliary in 1964. After retirement she spent winters in North Ft. Myers, Florida until 2004. Survivors are her mother, Freda Clevenger, a half-sister, Darlene Davis of Pt. Huron, niece: Debra D. Way of Pt. Huron; nephew, Kerry Ferguson of Palm Harbor, Florida. Special niece and nephew: Mary Ann Walker and husband Robert of Swartz Creek, David W. Palmer (Jackie), Great nephews: Kyle W. Niemi, Brian D. Niemi, Donald W. Palmer and Christopher D. Palmer. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 402 S. Ballenger, Flint. Pastor Steven R. Maske will officiate. Visitation will be at the Sharp Funeral Home Miller Rd. Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek on Monday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, Mrs. Palmer will be at the church from 12 noon to service time. Those desiring may make memorial gifts in Patricia's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association or a charity of choice.
