Goldfarb, Patricia, age 77 died Monday, January 24, 2011 at home. Cemetery services will be 12 PM Friday, January 28, 2011 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be Thursday 3-5 and 6-8 PM at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Raod, Grand Blanc Township. Patricia was born on March 22, 1933 to John and Catherine Harris in River Forest, IL and was raised there. In 1951 she enrolled at Bradley University and received her B.A. in the spring of 1954. That fall she enrolled in Sorbonne University and earned her Master's Degree in Literature there. She then returned to the U.S.A. and began working at the Gillette Company, simultaneously enrolling in the Adult Doctoral Program at Boston College. Patricia married in 1957 and widowed in 1966. During those years, she gave birth to a son, William, and daughter Susan. She also completed her studies and received her PhD in Literature. She met Carl Goldfarb in Detroit at a duplicate bridge tournament in 1978 and they were married in 1981. She is survived by her adored husband Carl, beloved children, Geoffrey, William (and his wife Linda) Ross, Susan Smith, and Evan Goldfarb, cherished grandchildren Billie Sue (and husband Damien) Sczepaniak, James Smith, Allison Ross, Macy Golfarb, great-granddaughter Lita Sczepaniak and sister-in-laws Barbara Cooper and Janet Warren Marks.
