Otto Wendt

WENDT, Otto Robert - Age 88, of Swartz Creek, died November 25, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Fr. Gary Koenigsknecht celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 11 AM - 9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday evening. Visitation will also be from 10AM until time of Mass at the church on Thursday. Contributions may be made for Masses or St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Mr. Wendt was born October 31, 1929 in Sanilac Co, the son of Otto Robert and Ella M. (Ullman) Wendt. He married Alma R. Molloy on January 17, 1953. He retired from General Motors in 1995 after 37 years of service. Surviving are: wife, Alma of Swartz Creek; 14 children, Rosann McCallum of Gaines, Robert Wendt of Swartz Creek, Linda (Steve) Taddei of Swartz Creek, Lee (Patricia) Wendt of Gaines, Theresa (Don) Adamson, Alma (Dennis) Jozwiak, Diana Wendt of Flint, Ralph (Carolyn) Wendt of Gaines, Joyce (Paul) Carroll of Fenton, Edward (Corrie) Wendt of Owosso, Paul Wendt of Swartz Creek, Ann (Dave) Ales of Grand Blanc, Marie Wendt of Grand Blanc, Cathy (Chris) Betts of Swartz Creek; 37 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Karl Wendt; brother-in-law Jerome Booms. He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandsons, Matthew and Thomas Wendt; son-in-law, Mark McCallum; sister, Alvina Kerbyson; and two brothers, Rudy and Frederick "Bud" Wendt.
