Orlin Paul Knuth

KNUTH - Orlin Paul, Age 80 of Linden, passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on November 17, 2023.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Sharp Funeral Home - Fenton Chapel located at 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Michigan (The funeral service can be viewed by live stream via a link on Mr. Knuth's obituary page at www.sharpfunerahomes.com).  The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Orlin to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.givenow.lls.org).

Orlin was born on April 29, 1943 in Reed City, Michigan to the late Rudolph Leon and Vera (Castle) Knuth.  He graduated from Reed City High School and then served our country with the United States Army.  He received his Bachelors Degree from Central Michigan University and his Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University.  Orlin married Gail Shoup on December 21, 1967 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and went on to work for 36 years at General Motors and Delphi before retiring in 2001.  He was a former board member for the Lake Fenton School District and could usually be found under the press box for Friday night football as he was avid supporter of the Lake Fenton Football Team and Marching Band.

He is survived by his children, Karen Morris of Swartz Creek; Kimberley (Randy) Lee of Swartz Creek; and Kevin (Rylee) Knuth of Linden.  Grandchildren, Tyler (Hannah) Morris; Randa Lee; and Ragan Lee.  Great-grandchildren, Wrenlee and Knox.  Siblings, Charles (Barbara) Knuth of Paris, MI; Edwin (Terry) Knuth of Austin, TX; and Elizabeth Stringer of Big Rapids, MI.  Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Caroline Knuth of Reed City, MI and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Knuth is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gail; grandson, Trevor Morris; son-in-law, Jeffrey Morris; sister, Sondra (Ben) Chupp; brothers, Rex Knuth and Leon Knuth.
