KEYS, Ora Nelson - Age 88, of Fenton, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial 10:30 AM Monday, February 22, 2010 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 5-9 PM Thursday and 1-4 and 6-9 PM on Friday. A V.F.W. Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association. Ora was born April 7, 1921 in Montrose, the son of William D. and Florence E. (McMann) Keys. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Jacqueline Wallar May 30, 1944 in Flint. He retired in 1986 from General Motors after 32 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek; he also was a member of Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post #3243 where he served as Chaplain and Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge #458 F.&A.M. Surviving are: wife, Jacqueline; 4 children, Dennis O. and wife Nancy Keys of Arcadia, FL and Durand, Gary F. and wife Robin Keys of Otisville, Ronald J. and wife Barbara Keys of St. Louis, MO and Fenton and Jill and husband Keith VanWoert of Burton, TX; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother, George Washington Keys of Montrose; several nieces and nephews; his faithful companions, Josie and Kogi. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Thoracic Unit at Cleveland Clinic and especially Sam and Rowena.
