WARLAND, Onlea 'Rose', age 85, of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 1PM Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Rev. Lawrence Gill officiating. Interment will follow at Bendle Cemetery, Clayton Township. Visitation will be 4-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial Donations may be made to the East Flint Mission. Rose was born November 1, 1922 in Swartz Creek the daughter of the late Wilbur and Flossie (Brockway) Snell. She married Rev. John R. Warland on February 1, 1941 at West Flint Nazarene Church. Rose was a Pastor's wife, serving people at her husband's side in the communities of Clare, Montrose, Grand Blanc, and Sage Lake. She had been employed by Genesee Memorial Hospital as a financial secretary until her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured the memory growing up on her parent's farm on Hill Road. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Rev. John Warland; daughter, Linda Rose Lucas of Oxford; son Larry R. Warland (Diana) of Toledo, Ohio; 2 granddaughters, Deanna Bradburn (Travis) of Ortonville, Beverly Tice of Oxford; 3 great-grandchildren, Victoria Rose, Nicholas and Ethan; brother, John Snell (Lela) of Swartz Creek. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Howard Lucas; and 8 siblings.
