Norton Edward CHAPMAN

CHAPMAN, Norton Edward - Age 82, of Fenton formerly of Davison, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 11, 2010 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 8192 Davison Road, Davison, with Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Burial immediately following at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 5-8 PM, Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM and at church Thursday from 1:00 PM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund. Mr. Chapman was born November 22, 1927 in Flint, the son of Willard N. and Alice (Halbedel) Chapman. He was a 1947 graduate and All City Football player at Flint Tech High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Chapman married Margaret "Peggy" Rutherford July 15, 1949 and she preceded him in death March 1, 1974. He retired in 1983 from GM Flint Metal Fab. after 35 years of service. He had resided in Fenton since July 2009, coming from Davison. Surviving are: 2 children, Eileen and husband William Palmer of Fenton and David and wife Kathleen Chapman of Andover, MA; 7 grandchildren, Michael Chapman of Atlanta, GA, Christine Chapman of Greensboro, NC, Kathryn and husband Chiron Herweg of Kalamazoo, Dr. Anthony Palmer of Ann Arbor, Elizabeth Palmer of Fenton, William R. Palmer II of Davison and Angelina and husband Michael Henry of Colorado; 2 great grandsons, Liam and Aiden Palmer; brother, Douglas Chapman of Burton; sister, Janet Henry of Brighton; several nieces and nephews.
