McDANIEL, Norman D. - Age 70, of Genesee Twp., died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Harold K. Polk officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or National Model Aviation Museum. Mr. McDaniel was born May 3, 1936 in Flint the son of David and Salonamae (Crockett) McDaniel and had been a resident of the Flint area all of his life. He graduated from Dye High School and married Donna Dixon on November 10, 1956. Mr. McDaniel was employed by General Motors/SPO as a Millright, retiring in 1991 with 37 years of service. He was very active in Boy Scouts of America as an Organizer and Pack Master of Pack #341. He was a Charter Member of the Kearsley Rescue Squad. Mr. McDaniel was also a longtime model airplane enthusiast and competed in many competitions. Surviving are his wife, Donna; 6 children, David and wife Cindy, Alan and wife Jane, Lauralyn, Martin and wife Judy, Adam and Wendy, and Leann; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
