Norman Lang, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away December 29, 2024 at Michigan Veteran Homes in Chesterfield Township, MI. Norman was born January 14, 1948 in Hood River, Oregon, the son of Ernest Theodore and Violet Elizabeth (Harkleroad) Lang. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. serving in Vietnam. He was an active member of the VFW chapter 3720 in Swartz Creek. Norman was an air traffic controller for many years before opening his own business, the first quick oil change in Flint. He was a strong family man who enjoyed fishing, wood working and dancing. He and his wife traveled the world. Norman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane; children Kelly (Ty) McGinnis and Jeff (Michelle) Lang; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jr. and Emily Lang; Tyrone and Alexis McGinnis; sisters Carol Jameson (Joel), Martha DeLeo (Tom); in-laws, Patrick Sheahan, Martha (Robert) Youmans, Cathy (Brian) McHale and daughter Lacy; many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.
Services will be held 11AM Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. The family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service from 12-2 PM at The Moose Lodge 2245 Sonora Dr, Fenton, MI 48430. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
