JACKSON, Norman Edward - Age 85, of Flint, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Cremation has taken place and services will be held 5:00 PM Monday, April 9, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Rev. Patricia Jarvis officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service. Norman was born September 11, 1932 in Dillon, SC, the son of Richard Olgie and Gertrude (Hamilton) Jackson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Marie Lorraine Martos December 12, 1953 in New York City, NY and she preceded him in death April 1, 2015. He had resided in Flint since 1955 coming from South Carolina. Norman retired from GM Chevrolet Truck and Bus after 39 years of service. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 598. He was a avid Detroit Tiger's fan and a doting grandfather and great grandfather. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Patricia, Beth, and Shannon from Kindred Hospice and the staff at Mission Point of Holly. Surviving are: son, Kenneth Jackson of Flint; daughter, Sherry (Russ) Miilu of Flint; grandchildren, Jason (Sherril) Jackson, Janelle (Jake) Beren, and Christy (Eric) DeCurtis; great grandchildren, Cole and Caleb Jackson, and Haylee and Jackson DeCurtis; and several nieces and nephews.
