May 28, 1943 — July 7, 2018

DIVELY, Norman Lynn - Age 75, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, July 7, 2018 in New Mexico while visiting friends on vacation with his wife, Sandra. A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, at our temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Road, Mundy Township. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Cancer Society. Norm was born May 28, 1943 in Flint, the son of Clair and Genevieve (Lingenfelter) Dively. He was a 1961 graduate of Southwestern High School and received an Associate Degree from Mott Community College. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Air Force. He married Sandra May Friend July 17, 1973 in Nashville, TN, and was a devoted and loving husband to her for nearly 45 years. Norm was employed by GM Truck and Bus as a Team Leader in the Paint Shop. A job he greatly enjoyed as he loved all things car-related, and his co-workers at the shop. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America and the Linden Sportsman Club. He enjoyed shooting, autocross racing, golfing, fluffy little white dogs named Angel, and was an avid reader. He was a loving and supportive father, a fun and loyal friend, and a thoughtful and funny human being. He had a morning routine you could set your watch to, but he would be there for those he cared about in an instant. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving are: his wife, Sandra; children, Jennifer Dively of Monee, IL, Jonathan Dively of Swartz Creek, and Lisa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
