Norma Harvel

Norma Jean Harvel was born November 15, 1936 in Flushing, Michigan to Thomas and Frances Brown Burke. She was a graduate of Flushing High School, Flushing, Michigan.  Norma was married May 26th, 1956 in the Flushing UMC to Charles Lee Harvel.
Her work history included being a nurse's aide at Fostorian Manor and a dental assistant for Dr. Huey.
A member of Brent Creek UMC, West Flint Nazarene, and South Mundy UMC, Norma enjoyed singing in her church choir, especially with a trio of good friends. Norma enjoyed playing the piano and serving in community nursing homes with music and sharing God’s Word.
She loved playing cards and board games with the family.  She is known for her sun tea, amazing chicken salad, and delicious crazy cake. She thoroughly enjoyed being a snowbird in a yearly trek from Michigan to Panama City Beach, Florida and had fun being a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and home-room Mom for her children when they were young.
Norma was preceded in death by husband Charles Harvel, sister Sharon Doyle, and brother Frank Burke.
Norma will be cherished and missed by daughters Rochelle Donnelly, Rhonda Dosh, son Ric Harvel, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
Her true joy in later life was not only her family, but time spent with her beloved cat Angel, also affectionately known as Baby Kitty.
Friends may call Friday, January 27  from 6-8 PM at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc and from 12 PM Saturday until the time of the service.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, January 28 at the funeral home. Pastor Andrew Brashaw officiating.
