Norma loved animals and would approve of this support. Norma was born on July 19, 1929, in Flint, MI the daughter of Lee Earl Kelley and Mary Etta (Hushin) Kelley of Fenton, MI. Norma graduated from Fenton High School in 1947 and attended Western Michigan University for one year before marrying Leo A Foley in September 1948. Norma lived her entire life in Fenton. After being a homemaker for many years, she worked at the former Fenton Convalescent Home for several years and then for The State Bank in Fenton for many years before retiring. Norma was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She had a zest for life and a smile for anyone that crossed her path. For many, many years, Norma would wake up well before dawn to ride her “Cadillac” bike around Fenton looking for bottles/cans and many other treasures. If only her bikes could talk. Her refrigerator was always well stocked with a variety of soft/hard drinks that she would find on her daily bike route along with her homemade chili, potato soup, bean and ham soup, etc. Her molasses cookies were amazing!!! She gladly woke anyone up singing her classic “Smile when you wake up…….” song. Over the years she enjoyed singing dancing, playing euchre, traveling, crossword puzzles, WJR radio, etc. She loved all Detroit sports, especially the Red Wings. Her stories about Fenton were endless and entertaining. Norma was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She was a long-time member of the choir at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Sweet Adelines and the Dauner Haus Dollies singing groups. She also sang at many funerals/weddings throughout the years. Norma loved Fenton and also served on the Fenton Museum Board in past years. Without question her greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Norma will be sorely missed by all. Surviving are: sons Bob (Linda Young) Foley of Jackson, CA, Gregory Foley of Fenton, Brian Foley of Fenton, Paul (Kim) Foley of Fenton, brother Jon (Jodi) Kelley of Pinckney, grandchildren Mike Foley, Jon (Lisa) Foley, Christopher Foley, Jimmy Foley, Rhonda Coates, Jon (Angie) Foley, Erin (Adam) Turner, Lauren Foley, Karlie (Mackenzie) Dieck, Kellie (Ty) Showerman and Tommy Dieck: great grandchildren Jacob Foley, Matthew Foley, Stella Turner, Joey Turner, Henry Foley and Peggy Foley: sister-in-law Sandy Foley and brother-in-law Max (MariAnn) Foley: nieces/nephews and many extended family members, friends and neighbors at Dauner Haus (especially, Karen, Kate and Laurie) and fur babies Arnie, Maggie, Daryl, Teddy, Roxy, Millie, Blaze, Cruze, Franklin and Einstein.
