COLVIN, Nile D. - Age 83, of Winchester, KY, formerly of Flint Twp., died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in Winchester, KY. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Rev. Emil Haering officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Thursday, 2-5 & 7-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Nile was born June 3, 1919 in Ithaca, MI, the son of Barnard P. and Sarah (Allen) Colvin. He married Doris Margaret Gottschalk on June 26, 1940 in Flint; she preceded him in death on April 24, 2003. Mr. Colvin retired from Buick in 1981 with 27 years of service. He attended Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Surviving are: daughter, Patricia and husband Louis Tahash of Winchester, KY; son, David and wife Janet Colvin of Spruce Pine, NC; daughter, Janice and husband Ronald Shepherd of West Branch, MI; grandchildren, Deborah and husband Mark Todd, Jayne and husband Darrell Glass, Lyle Smith, Dara Lea and husband Mark Horne, Daniel and wife Mary Colvin, Derek Waxell, Sean Waxell, Paul Waxell, Daniel D. Waxell, Michael Tahash, Christopher Hutchinson; 13 great grandchildren. Mr. Colvin was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary J. Colvin in 1980; brother, Lynn Colvin in 2000.
