NEMER, Nicholas Assaad - age 78, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, September 24, 2007 at Genesys Health Park after a long illness. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday, September 27, 2007 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Rd., Flint with Fr. Joseph M. Abud celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 3-9 PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. An incense service will be held 7 PM Wednesday followed by a service of rememberance officiated by Pastor Maurice Anderson. Nicholas was born January 1, 1929 in Ain Arab, Lebanon, the son of Assaad and Latife (Baba) Nemer. He married Nejmeh Abou-Samara. Nicholas was an excellent farmer of grapes, figs and fruits in Lebanon. He was a generous, joyful, and hardworking man who loved the Lord. In April of 1992, he moved to America to join his parents and family, where he enjoyed gardening. Surviving are: wife, Nejmeh; five children, Rose, George, Assaad, Dunia, and Farres Nemer; six siblings, George Nemer, Georgette Yousuf, Laurice Matta, Mike Nemer, Khalil "Kal" Nemer and Jamal Skaff.
