WOOLEY, Nelson Lauron of Flint Township, age 83, valiantly fought COVID and pneumonia for 10 days at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Ann Arbor and died on November 10, 2020. Nelson was born August 26, 1937 in Flint, the son of Nelson Frederick and June Lucille (Powell) Wooley. He is survived by his son Michael (Magali) of Bay City and his lovely granddaughters Angelique Wooley and Victoria Wooley; sisters Mary Bland and Billie Mae Wooley; and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and special friend Helen Harrington. He was preceded in death by his radiant daughter Lisa Wooley, his former wife Sandra (Fletcher), sister June and his parents. Nelson was a graduate of Bentley High School and worked for many years in the produce industry at Hamady Bros. in Flint. He was an enlisted Sharpshooter in the US Army during the Berlin Wall Crisis in Germany from 1961 to 1963. He loved spending time with his family, driving his Corvettes, playing euchre with his friends, travelling and making an occasional casino trip. He will always be remembered for his pranks, constant light-hearted teasing, big heart and the great love he showed his family.
