RETKA, Nellie E. (Crandall) -- Age 63, of Flint, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Gaines. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Sunday, 12-3 & 5-8 PM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research. Nellie was born May 3, 1941 in Flint, the daughter of Arnold and Huldena (Knuth) Crandall. She was a loving wife, mother & grandmother. Surviving are: husband, Tom; children, Cynthia Major, Leslie Major, Joseph Sand, Victor Sand; grandchildren, Marisa, J.J., Taylor and Spencer Sand; 6 brothers and sisters. She also leaves a large extended family that will miss her very much; and her little Yorkie, Murphy Brown. She was preceded in death by a brother.
