Nelda Schumacher

SCHUMACHER, Nelda Rae -- Age 88, of Abbey Park, Grand Blanc, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, June 1, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1-3 and 5-8 PM Sunday, and 10AM until the time of service Monday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to First Congregational United Church of Christ or Recovery Inc. Nelda was born November 28, 1926, the daughter of Clyde and Mabel (Huggard) Bailey in Flint. She married John Schumacher December 27, 1947 in Angola, IN; he preceded her in death April 5, 1998. She worked for Avon as a representative for 40 years and loved it! She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, and was a volunteer for over 30 years with Recovery Incorporated. Nelda enjoyed playing bridge, euchre, reading, traveling and participating in craft shows. She also had a great passion for color analysis and was a consultant. Survived by: children, William (Mary Beth) Schumacher of Grand Blanc, Susan (John) Foster of Grand Blanc, Gregory (Tammy) Schumacher of Durand, Sandra (Mark) Robinson of Grand Blanc, Lori (Ronald) Allis of Goodrich; grandchildren, Adam (Renae) Robinson, Macy Robinson, John (Lori) Foster, Matthew Foster, Chris Schumacher, Greg Schumacher Jr., Megan Allis, Jordan Allis, Leslie (Scott) Gatica, Stephanie Schumacher, David (Christina) Navarro, Derek Navarro; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy J. Johnson of Crystal Falls, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John, parents; brother-in-law Mark Johnson; and cousin Gertrude Huggard.
