Forrest, Neilen H. -- Age 90 of Swartz Creek, died May 6, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Saturday May 11 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint. Fr Anthony Strouse Celebrant. Burial 9 AM Tuesday May 14 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 4- 8 PM Friday, May 10 where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, our temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Neilen was born April 1, 1929 in Alpena, MI. the son of Harry C. and Agnes Forrest. He lived in Swartz Creek since 1971. He worked in the Printing industry for 33 years retiring in 1991. He married Nancy A. Moore July 16, 1955 in Flint. She preceded him in death on September 24, 2013. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean war. He was a long time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball, football and bowling. He is survived by 3 children, Debby (Tim) Gocha of Spring TX, Dorine Forrest of Swartz Creek, and Michael Forrest of Flint; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Tucker; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by wife, Nancy; twin great granddaughters, Grace and Evie Wentworth; sister, Doris Davis; brothers, Thomas Forrest, James Forrest.
