With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nathan Kaeo Anurak (born Namchai Kaeo-Anurak) on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Born on October 16, 1953, in Songkhla, Thailand, Nathan lived a life defined by perseverance, intellect, and an unwavering dedication to his family and career.
Growing up in Songkhla, Nathan experienced a simple yet meaningful childhood, helping to raise his younger siblings and developing the strong work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. His pursuit of education took him beyond Thailand, earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of the Philippines, followed by a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University and a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Detroit.
Nathan’s career was a source of great pride and passion. Starting in IT, he quickly found his calling as a Quality Supply Engineer, a field where he would dedicate the rest of his professional life. His meticulous approach and commitment to excellence led him to a distinguished career at General Motors, where he worked until his retirement in 2019.
A lifelong learner, Nathan firmly believed that "knowledge is power." He was an avid news watcher, always eager to understand the world around him and instill curiosity in those he loved. His free time was often spent behind a camera lens, capturing moments through photography, or working on various computer projects. In later years, his greatest joy was found in the company of his grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them.
Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Tracy, and his children, Christopher (Joanne), Nicholas (Ciara), and Jessica (Mason Barnerd). He was a proud grandfather to Amelia, Maxwell, Greyson, Caius, Ellowyn, Olivia, Warren, and Wade, who brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He is also survived by extended family in his home country of Thailand.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nathan’s honor to Hartland Senior Center: on their website General Center Assistance :TechTime, an organization that reflects his passion for technology and lifelong learning.
Nathan’s presence will be deeply missed, but his impact and memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
