Nancy N. Weller

WELLER, Nancy N. (Crouter), age 74, of Vassar, formerly of Swartz Creek, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Internment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. Visitation will be held 1-9PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Michigan Vascular Research Center. Mrs. Weller was born October 21, 1935 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Jesse N. and Ruth J. (Prindle) Dowell. Nancy graduated from Mary Crapo High School, class of 1953, and earned a degree from Delta College in 1983 graduating with honors. She was an Asssitant General Managerfor NBC 25 television, retiring with 15 years of service. Nancy was also self employed as co-owner for many years of Vassar Petroleum Compnay. Nancy was involved in many civic organizations, she held many positions on the State of Michigan General Federation of Women's Clubs and also was the club director of the East Central District Juniors Women's Clubs. She also served on the board of directors for the Miss Michigan and Pre-Miss Michigan Pagents. Nancy was a lifetime member and past president of McLaren Hospital Auxillary and chairman of the Surgical Lounge Volunteers. She is Survived by children: son, Robert (Wendy) Weller, Daughter's; Diane (Jason) Grover, Beth (Joseph) Kern, Barbara (Jeffery) Kehoe, and step-son, Andrew Crouter; grandchildren, Amanda, Amy, Andrew, Austin Graubner, Noah and Jole Kern, Jeff Rising, Katherine and Conner Kehoe, and Dakota Grover; twin sister, Nannette (Donald) Binns and sister Phyllis Spillane; many neices nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by Robert E. Weller; grandson Trevor James Edward Weller; sisters Barbara Hilden and Beverly Dowell; borthers-in-law Donald Spillane and Donald Hilden and nephew Christopher Hilden.
