Nancy was born September 19th, 1936, in Flint, Michigan to Neva and Carl Torrey. She met Ronald Roy Reed in 1951 at Calvary United Methodist Church in the Youth Fellowship program. They married in the same church on October 18, 1958, and were married 62 years until his death in 2020. Nancy graduated from Henry Ford Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was employed at McLaren Hospital in Flint. She stepped away from nursing to raise her three sons in Flint, Michigan. She was an active member of her church, Hope United Methodist in Flint, for many years. Nancy enjoyed traveling with Ron once he retired; a few of their favorite trips were Europe, Australia, and Panama. Ron and Nancy also spent every summer camping in Ludington with family and friends. They took annual summer vacations to the family cottages at Cedar Lake and Chiblow Lake. Nancy loved watching her favorite sports teams (Lions, Tigers, and Spartans), Hallmark movies, and her evening shows (Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune). She loved playing card games (Euchre and Sequence were her favorites) with family and friends, and she loved doing daily crossword puzzles and Sudoku in pen. Nancy loved spending time with her six grandchildren and later in life her three great grandchildren. She would often watch her grandchildren over the years and was very active in all of their lives, never missing an achievement or event for any of them. Nancy was best known for being unflappable in any situation and for her quick wit and humor. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother (Wayne Torrey). She is survived by her sons; Thomas (Echo) Reed, Timothy (Honor) Reed, and James (Tracy) Reed; her grandchildren, Thomas (Daniela) Reed, Abby (Tony) Finateri, Zachary Reed, Andrew Reed, Melanie (Daniel) Drake, and Katye Reed; and her great grandchildren, Brady Reed, Luciana Finateri, and Francesca Finateri.
