LONG, Nancy E. "Bud" - age 77, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Hal Phillips officiating. Entombment will be held at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery next to her beloved husband of 52 years. Visitation will be held 11 AM to 9 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Long was born September 16, 1930 in Soddy-Daisy, TN, the daughter of Luther and Willie Mae (Gann) Lasley. She married R. Richard "Dick" Long on May 1, 1948 in Georgia and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2000. Mrs. Long has resided in Swartz Creek since 1957. Mrs. Long owned and operated several retails stores with her husband. She founded the first Brownies Troop for 7 year olds in Swartz Creek in 1958. Mrs. Long enjoyed traveling and cruises. She was a Golden Medallion Member of Holland American Line Cruises with 525 days of sailing. Surviving are: daughter, Judy "Toots" Dover of Swartz Creek; son, Steven Long of Swartz Creek; two grandsons, Toby and Jason; son-in-law, Mickey; sister, Wanda Cramer of Grand Blanc; brother, David Lasley and wife, Betty of Lake, MI; brothers-in-law, William and Gale Long of Flint, John and Sharon Long of Alanson; sisters-in-law, Jane Revere of Clio, Esther and Ernie Couch of Flint, Mona Kay Sliger of Davison, Siddie Johnston of Flint; many nieces, nephews and cousins; two poodles, Pooh and Punkin; fantastic travel agent, Susan Burtrum .
