Nancy Herronen

Nancy Winona Herronen, RN - On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, Nancy Herronen, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 89. Nancy was born October 7, 1932 on the Selden Baldwin Road farm in Swartz Creek, to Francis and Mary (Collins) Selden. After completing high school, Class of 1950, she graduated from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1953. On October 17, 1953, she married Donald Elmer Herronen. They raised two sons, Thomas and James.

Nancy loved the outdoors. She raised bountiful vegetable gardens and beautiful flowers. Nancy's passion was for any and all types of fishing. She particularly enjoyed traveling to Northern Michigan on fishing trips with her husband, Don. Nancy was a member of South Mundy Methodist Church and taught Sunday school in her younger years.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; brother and sister-in-law, Blythe and Barb Selden; brother, Marvin Selden; brother-in-law and sister, Dr. Gregory and Sandra Boggs; brother-in-law, Gary Herronen; sister-in-law, Sandy Herronen; nephew, Richard Selden; niece, Lonna Herronen. She is survived by her two sons, Thomas and James; grandson, Donnie Herronen; granddaughter, Dalila Little; two great-grandchildren, Donnielle and Delaney; brother-in-law and sister, Allen and Wanda Spicer; sister-in-law, Nancy Selden; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Julie Herronen; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, December 28 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Monday. Flowers are acceptable. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
