HEALY, Myron Douglas - age 82 of Fenton, died May 22, 2024. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, June 2., 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430 with Marty Shouse officiating. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Saturday, June 1, 2024, and 1-2 PM Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the funeral home. Veteran honors and entombment of Doug's cremated remains will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2-24 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Doug was born March 20, 1942, in Flint, the son of Myron and Bernice (Montney) Healy. He was a graduate of Flint Southwestern High School and attended Mott College before joining the U.S. Army from 1961- 1964. Doug married Karen Smith on March 5, 1965. Doug retired from General Motors Proving Grounds 1997 where he was in Safety Research after 30 years of service. Doug was an avid hunter for over 50 years and enjoyed the same deer blind in Mio for many years. He spent over 20 years attending classic car shows and forming friendships. Doug was well known for his 1939 Oldsmobile Coupe. He was a past member and deacon at Fenton Presbyterian Church. Surviving are: wife, Karen; four children, Todd D. Healy of Fenton, Scott (Gina) Healy of Indian River, Kelli (Chris) Byam of Fenton, and Barry Healy (Crystal) of Fenton; grandchildren, Logan (Bella) Healy, Gabrielle (Josh) Wallace, Courtney (Mike) Draves, Troy Healy, Haley Sordyl (Colin), Averi Byam, and Bentley Healy; great-grandson, Brentley; sisters-in-law, Sandra DeCorte, Sydney Hardenbrook, and Charmi Healy; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Healy.
