Mrs. Frances Marzonie

MARZONIE, Frances Catherine -- age 95, of Flushing, died December 11, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 17 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Flushing, celebrant Fr. Paul Schwermer. Interment will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 1 PM - 4 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. There will be a prayer service at 7 PM Tuesday. There will also be visitation at the church Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring to make donations may contribute to a charity of their choice or for masses. Frances was born January 11, 1919, in Flint, to George and Rose (Sadzuga) Majda. She was a 1937 graduate from Flint Northern High School. She married George A. Marzonie, Sr. January 25, 1947. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1994. She lived in Flint until 1948, when she and her husband moved to Atlanta, Georgia. The family lived many years in Arlington, Texas and many years in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. After her husband's death, Frances resided in Flushing from 1999 to the present. Frances loved music and was a violinist with the Flint Symphony Orchestra and, later, with the West Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra. Surviving are 3 children: Mary Roslyn (Gregory) Key of Arlington, Texas, George A. (Lisa) Marzonie, Jr. of Flushing, Dr. Christopher J. (Sheryl) Marzonie of Ann Arbor; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, with another due in April.; sister Helen (Theodore) Nelson of Grand Blanc. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George; daughter Francia Conway in 1999; and her brother Anthony (Tony) Majda. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Hyde Park Assisted Living and Memory Impaired homes for their exceptional attentiveness and loving care for Frances during the last several years.
