Morris Raymond ATKINSON

August 6, 1943 — April 10, 2012

ATKINSON, Morris Raymond, "Mo" age 68, of Flushing, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic. A Celebration of Life will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor's choice. Morris was born August 6, 1943 in Flint the son of Morris H. and Elsie (Dreyer) Atkinson. In 1975 he married Deborah Langtry. Morris was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart for his courage. He was an Independent Insurance Agent for over 40 years and was a member of the Independent Insurance Agency of Genesee County all those years. Morris loved golfing, the Red Wings, growing orchids and solving Sudoku puzzles. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Morris was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be loved forever and missed dearly. Surviving are his wife Deborah; mother, Elsie Atkinson; sister, Helen Becker; 2 sons, Daniel Atkinson (Lisa), Brian Bright; 2 daughters, Dellana Frecking (John), Ashley Atkinson; 8 grandchildren, Chloe, Sophia, Ella, Weston, Dashel, Hayley, Tyler, Brian II; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Morris; sister, Bonnie Reiter. Friends may share an online tibute on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
