Monte Turvey

TURVEY, Monte Mac- Age 67, of Flint, died Monday, June 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held 12:30PM Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Pastor Dennis Michael Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 10:00AM until time of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DAV of Genesee County or Salvation Army of Flint. Monte was born in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Malcomb Mac and Veronica Joan (Battersby) Turvey. He married Martha Soto in Flint, on November 22, 1978. Monte proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the G.M. Metal Fabricating plant with 32 years of service. Monte enjoyed remodeling and restoring homes in the Genesee County area. Surviving are: wife, Martha (Soto) Turvey; children, Ryan (Faith), Daniel and Tonya; the joy of his life, special granddaughters Lilly and Pinki. He is also survived by grandchildren, Ason,Tyler,Keegan,Camrun,Olivia "Lilly" and Lydia "Pinki"; brothers, Randy (Christina), Rick, and the Soto family and many friends and relatives.
