SPARKES, Molly R. 'The Avon Lady'- Of Swartz Creek, age 76, passed away peacefully and with dignity at Community Home Health and Hospice, March 2, 2004. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM Saturday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with memorial remarks at 4 PM. Molly was born in England, June 28, 1927. She served in British Navy Intelligence from 1942-47 where she met her future husband William. They were wed October 25, 1947, later emigrating to Canada and the United States. Mrs. Sparkes was an Avon Representative for almost 38 years and hosted the Sloan Museum Grandma's Attic program. She loved cats, enjoyed gardening, tutoring, volunteer work, cooking and quality time with her family. Surviving are son, Richard of Flint; daughters, Susan Shultis of Lexington, VA, and Dorothy Trubiro of Davison; sons in law Steven Shultis and Frank Trubiro; granddaughters Sarah and Jenny Shultis and Kimberly Trubiro; sister Daphne Burns of London, U.K. Her husband preceded her in death. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the William E. Baxter Memorial Scholarship Fund at Alma College, Alma, MI 48801.
