Miriam Elizabeth BRIGGS

BRIGGS, Miriam E. - age 93, of Fenton, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Fenton Health Care. Services will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Abbey Park, 3221 E. Baldwin Rd., Grand Blanc with Max Hayden officiating. Mrs. Briggs was born November 24, 1915 in North Hampton, OH, the daughter of Arthur B. and Leona (Thackery) Shaffer. She was a graduate of National College of Education with a Bachelors Degree and taught elementary school for 27 years. Mrs. Briggs was a member of the AAUW and Delta Zeta Alumni. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, hospitals and nursing homes. She was a Presbyterian Church member (Women's Circle Leader) and Treasurer, P.M. Presbyterian Women. Mr. Briggs enjoyed synchronized swimming and playing bridge. Surviving are: daughter, Sharon and husband, Russ Johnson of Fenton; two granddaughters, Kimberley and husband, Mark Bell of IN, Kristina and husband, Mike Beltzer of CA; great-granddaughter, Lauren Renae Beltzer.
