UTTER, Milton George - age 73, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Durand, died Friday, August 8, 2008 at his residence after a long illness. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek . Visitation will be held 11 AM to 1 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM Tuesday and 10 AM until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Utter was born April 10, 1935 in Lansing, the son of Lloyd and Eria (Barnes) Utter. He was a graduate of Michigan State University. Mr. Utter married Michele K. Secord on April 24, 1976. He retired from the Social Security Administration after 20 years of service. After retirement, Milt used his extensive experience in Social Security as an advocate for disabled persons which became a big part of his life. Mr. Utter was an avid golfer and had his one and only hole-in-one on Halloween 1988 at Willowbrook Golf Course. Surviving are: wife, Michele; three daughters, Jacqueline (Jim) Morris, Lori Taylor and husband, Alan, Lisa Watkins, all of OR; son, Jeffery (Sue) Utter of TX; step-daughter, Kelly Bridges of Grasslake; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.
