Millard Philmore SNEED

SNEED, Millard Philmore - Age 84, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, July 11, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Rev. Don Dennis will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association. Millard was born March 21, 1927 in Besoco, WV, the son of Philmore and Mary Francis (Shrewsbury) Sneed. He was raised in West Virginia, coming to Flint in 1955. Millard was married to Marcella Crowell on October 3, 1975 in Flint. He retired from McLaren Hospital after 20 years of service. He enjoyed, fishing, hunting, camping and going to the casino. Surviving are: wife, Marcella; children, Sandy McGowen, Mary (Albert) Chambers, Brenda (James) Roe, Mike (Sandy)Taylor, Ron (Melissa) Taylor; very special granddaughter, Jordan Taylor; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Harrison, Margaret Walker, Joyce, Judy (Jerry) Bush; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jesse and Frank; sister, Garnet Barber; brothers-in-law, JC Barber, James Harrison, Otis Walker.
