GILLES, Mildred Marie "Millie" - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died June 15, 2011 at Fenton Extended Care. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Monday, June 20, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Entombment will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with a Rosary at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held at the church on Monday from 9 AM until the time of mass. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Millie was born April 10, 1929 in New Lothrop, the daughter of Alois and Rose (Weisenberger) Gross. She married Charles Gilles in Maple Grove on June 17, 1950; he preceded her in death November 23, 2010. Mille was an active member of St. Mary, Flint and St. Pius X Altar Societies. She instilled in her children the importance of family. Surviving are: four children, Noreen Navarre of Fenton, David and wife Wanda Gilles of Brighton, Barb and husband Denny Bishop of Fenton, Duane Gilles of Grand Blanc; four grandchildren, Walter Ryan Burnett and wife Danielle, Briahna Carey, Melissa Gilles, Chad Gilles; step-granddaughter Audra and husband Larry Whitt; several great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Birchmeier; brother, Lavern Gross. She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Clara Gross; brothers, Herman and Leon Gross; sisters, Madeline Ach and Leona Weisenberger.
