Mildred Burr

BURR, Mildred Louise- Age 99 of Fenton, died March 13, 2016. Services will be held 1 PM Friday, March 18 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Alma. Pastor Mark Cox officiating. Visitation will take place from 10 AM until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet of Fenton. Mildred was born in Alma on March 9, 1917 the daughter of William and Phoebe (Hayden) Rench. She married Charles Phillip Burr on June 24, 1936. Charles preceded her in death on October 12, 1983. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, and her cat, Lucy. Mildred dedicated her time to working with the Girl Scouts and Brownies, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Linda (Steven) Baier of Elsie; daughter-in-law, Sandra Burr of Linden; grandson, Gordon Burr of Okemos; and great-grandson, Donovan Burr; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil; daughter, Phyllis Ann; son, Gordie; brothers, Leonard, Walter, Duane, Dorwin, and Earl Rench; sisters, Elsie Smith, Freda Griffith, Opal Rench, and Ruby Kirby.
