A limb has fallen from our family tree. Milan Rolf Glusica, 59 years young, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by many who loved him unconditionally. Milan was born the youngest child of four and the only son to the late Milan and Anita Glusica in Flint, Michigan. It was a standing joke with Mom, she was so grateful a baby boy was finally in the picture. Dad was adamant to not quit until he had his son to carry on the Glusica name.
Milan was a man of many talents and hobbies. He loved U of M sports, winning at everything, bowling, racing, and gracing local car shows with his pride and joy, Dad’s 1992 Cadillac. At the age of ten, Mom took him to a lake with his brand new fishing pole and tackle box. Milan fell in love with fishing-any kind of fishing- and would go whenever time would allow. Milan was a master of carpentry and enjoyed every hour spent transforming wood into art. From creating gnome gardens for clients, making and refurbishing furniture, building one-of- a kind decks, or gutting and remodeling entire homes, his attention to detail was amazing. This man has left his signature throughout Michigan and beyond.
This 6’6” gentle giant projected a love that was generous and solid. Milan took his role as the patriarch quite seriously. He never backed down and fought the biggest battle of his life trying to slay the invasive T cell lymphoma with every ounce of his being . His mind remained strong yet his body did not have the strength to continue the fight.
Milan would not want sorrow or pity. We ask that you remember him in the best times, when he was strong, let the memory of his beautiful laughter and sense of humor remain in your hearts forever. A part of us went with you when God called you home. Milan understood the meaning of God’s grace; physical death is not the end of life but rather a change in how life is lived.
John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die.”
Revelation 21:4 “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow nor crying. There shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away.”
Milan is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Kaialee Kathrina. He is survived by children Cory Hippensteel and Michelle Glusica, grandchildren Viviean and Lyndsie, sisters Angela Fields, Zora Glusica, Mira Grimes, special nephews and nieces Michael, Kevin, Tommy, Deva, Cara, and the ginormous amount of friends who claim Milan as their best friend. We would like to also offer special thanks to Pamela and Jerry for going above and beyond in helping care for Milan.
