Michelle Ann Kirkwood (née Williams)

Kirkwood, Michelle Ann (née Williams) - Age 70, of Flint passed away peacefully February 8, 2025 in the company of family and friends. Per Michelle’s wishes, her body is to be cremated and her ashes spread in private ceremony. A Celebration of Life remembering Michelle will be held on a date to be determined.

Michelle was born July 17, 1954 in Flint, Michigan to her loving parents Wesley and Pauline Williams (née Sheppard), whom both preceded her in death. Michelle grew up in Swartz Creek where she attended high school, but later moved to Flint where she started her own family and made many, many wonderful friends. Michelle was a University of Michigan graduate with a Bachelor’s in Accounting, and eventually retired from computer programming for the City of Flint to take care of her ailing mother.

Michelle loved live music. A true Motown fan, she frequently ushered/valeted in Flint and Detroit area theaters. Her hobbies varied from travel to bookkeeping, skydiving to volleyball to tubing, but (unless reading) she was always surrounded by friends. She was stylish, but reserved. Serious, but equally hilarious. Quiet, but always ready to dance. Michelle was also notoriously compassionate and spent her life caring for others. 

Surviving are: her son, Michal Donovan; her granddaughter, Myles Dee; Brothers: Brian Williams (and his wife Katherine) and Rick Williams (and his wife Jan); dearly loved Stepmother: Jaqueline Williams, and far too many wonderful friends to list. The family would like to especially thank Raynee Birmingham and her family for her dedication to Michelle in her final days/hours. 

Michelle is joyfully reunited in the hereafter with her loving parents, where she will no doubt be enjoying many great tunes, laughing with God and Jimmy Buffet, and watching over us all. She’s already deeply loved and missed. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
