WORKMAN, Michael R. - Of Grand Blanc Township, age 50, died Monday, May 18, 2009 at Melody Pines Care Home. Funeral service will be held 11AM Friday, May 22, 2009 at Faith Tabernacle, 1225 S. Center Rd., Burton, Pastor Bruce Garner officiating. Visitation will be held 6-9PM Wednesday and 11-2 and 5-9PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to ALS of Michigan. Michael was born December 27, 1958 in Flint, the son of Raymond D. and Helen D. (Thorsen) Workman and had lived in Grand Blanc Township for many years. He married Cynthia Bellah on October 5, 1985 in Flint. Mr. Workman was a 1976 graduate of Powers High School and earned his Associate's degree with honors from Mott Community College. Michael had worked for Comcast for several years and in Auto Sales for Clarkston Chrysler until 2006 when he became ill. He was an avid woodworker, photographer and videographer and was very active in his church, Faith Tabernacle. Surviving are: wife, Cynthia; children, Andrew William, Aaron Michael and Adam Raymond Workman, all at home; mother, Helen Workman of Flushing; sisters, Barbara and Jerry Van Leeuwen of Grand Rapids; Susan and Charles Fetzer of Swartz Creek; twin brother, William A. and Cynthia Workman of Buchanan; brother-in-law, Victor L. Scharrer Sr. of Columbiaville; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; father-in-law, William Bellah and wife Lana of Grand Blanc Twp. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; sister, Mary Scharrer; and mother-in-law, Judith Bellah-Wood.
