Michael "Mick" Vess

Michael "Mick" S. Vess, age 64, of New Hudson, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on Monday, December 25, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am with a luncheon following at Lake Pointe Bible Church, 42150 Schoolcraft Road, Plymouth, Michigan on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Mick was born on September 13, 1959, in Garden City, Michigan to the late Gordon & JoAnne Vess. He graduated from Wayne Memorial High School class of 1977. Mick and Debbie married on April 11, 1987. Over the years they had many travels throughout the states and abroad. However, some of the fondest memories were made with his family and friends during family vacations and on the weekends. Mick went to countless concerts; his favorite genre was rock & roll. Mick was somewhat of a "DJ" himself as he knew the lyrics to any song that came across the radio. He enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, and in the earlier years he enjoyed fishing, (with his 1 orange rapala), golf and bowling. Mick will be forever remembered for his generous heart and his ability to give everyone a nick name or 2…or 3.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra “Ducey”; 4 children, Paul “Chi”, Chuck “Charlie” (Sabrina “Duncan”) Nicole “Larson” (Melvin “Vinsk”) and Daniel “Johnny” (Trisha “Fishy”) and his 13 grandchildren, Lyllian “Speedy”, Haley “Buck”, Kat “KaTHairin”Jackson “Be Nimble”, Jamie “Jamie’s Crying”, Mason “Baby Ma-saun”, Xavier “Warrior Princess”, Hadley “Mad Hatter”, Elijah “Poor ol Elijah”, Amelia “Meems”, “Oliver “Oliver Twist”, Isaiah “Baby I” and Rose “Rosie Ringer” and his brother, Bob “Hoy” (Kelly “Jean”). Mick is further survived by many other family and friends. He will never be forgotten. Whoa, black Betty (bam-ba-lam)
