With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Unwin, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world on March 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Born on November 21, 2012, in Ann Arbor, Michael graced our lives for a brief but impactful time, touching the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Michael was a bright light in our lives, known for his infectious laughter and unwavering joy. Despite the challenges he faced due to his special needs, he taught us all about resilience, love, and the beauty of living in the moment. Michael loved listening to his favorite songs, delighting in little tastes of real food, spending time with his friends at school, watching cartoons, and flirting with all the ladies. His laughter could brighten the darkest days, and his smile was a source of comfort to all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his devoted mother, Melinda Childs, and step-dad, Matthew Piper. His father, Wayne "Tony" Unwin, and his cherished siblings—Mackenzie Childs (Mike), Charlotte Unwin, Hunter Childs, Macey Childs, Dalton Piper, and Charlee Unwin—along with his adoring niece, Marleigh, carry his memory in their hearts. Each of these family members will forever feel the emptiness left by Michael, yet they will also hold onto the countless joyful memories and the love that will remain timeless.

Michael will also be reunited in spirit with his Papa “Robert”, who will continue to watch over him. As we remember Michael, let us celebrate the precious moments we shared, the laughter that brought smiles to all, and the spirit he embodied.

Family and friends are invited to honor his memory during visitation at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Grand Blanc, MI, on March 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Let us come together to pay tribute to Michael’s life and the light he brought into our world. His legacy of love, hope, and joy will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him so dearly.
