TAYLOR, Michael Fairn - age 77, of Flint, died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton with Fr. Timothy MacDonald celebrant. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc, Twp. where a vigil service will be held at 7 PM. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Naval Sea Cadet Program. Mr. Taylor was born April 24, 1932 in Flint, the son of Harold Joseph and Naomi (Host) Taylor. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Taylor married Janet Johnstone-Nye on October 18, 1985. He retired from AC Spark Plug after 40 years of service, the U.S. Naval Reserve after 33 years of service and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Mr. Taylor was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, a life member of VFW, a member of Navy League of the United States, life member of Navy Reserve Association, member of Navy Reserve Officer Association, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 15 years and an active member of the Flint Genealogy Society. Surviving are: wife, Janet of Flint; daughter, Theresa Michele Wheeler of Virginia Beach, VA; two sons, Timothy Mark Taylor of Lake City, FL, Todd Taylor and wife, Linda of Moore, OK; step-son, Jon Stuart Nye and wife, Barbara of Tampa, FL; eight grandchildren, Hope, Michael, Lee, Leah, Jenna, Daniele, Sandi Rose and Sara; four great-grandchildren, Byron, Blake, James and Lacey; sister, Gail Elizabeth Brown and husband, Gary of Kalamazoo; brother, Gary Taylor and wife, Patricia of Concord, CA.
